In May 2020 GeoAlaska LLC was established for the purpose of developing geothermal resources in Alaska. Initially the focus was to focus on Mount Spurr and in September 2021 the Mount Spurr permit was issued. In September 2022 GeoAlaska also received the permit for Mount Augustine.

In July 2021 GeoAlaska initiated a dialogue with Ignis Energy LLC, a sister company of Geolog Americas. Geolog is a well-established Surface Logging company in Alaska with operations in the Cook Inlet and the North Slope. Ignis Energy is a geothermal power company with geothermal development projects in various countries and brings a wealth of drilling and geothermal expertise to the team. In March 2023 GeoAlaska and Ignis Energy enter a partnership to develop the two geothermal opportunities at Mount Spurr and Mount Augustine.
